July 25 is World Day for Grandparents and Elderly
Pope Francis established the celebration of the World Day for Grandparents and Elderly on the 4th Sunday of July, near the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. Join us or bring a special family member or friend for a special blessing at all Masses this weekend.
Outreach for St. Ambrose Community
Reminder: bins will be in front of the Parish Center tomorrow (Saturday) from 2:00 – 6:00 PM for your donations. Drop off new or gently used donations of children/infant clothing, coats, blankets, towels, or gloves/hats. Thank you!
Miles for the Mission: great news!
We have reached our goal of 100 sponsors for Miles for the Mission ($10,000)! Thank you to all for your generosity! We will be sure to share photos of Fr. Brendan's trek on September 5. Our prayers are with him!
Wednesday Adoration and Confession
We are forever grateful to Ms. Melanie Karolenko for her service to our parish these last 10 months. Melanie graduated from Sacred Heart in 2008 and returned to her home parish this past October to lead us in praise and worship before the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday. In September, Melanie will move to Colorado. We can't thank her enough for her help in building up a culture of devotion and adoration at Sacred Heart. Please keep Melanie in your prayers, and join us this Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 PM for her last praise and worship night at SHG.
It will also be our last evening of confession and adoration for the remainder of the summer. We will resume confession and adoration with our praise and worship Holy Hour after Labor Day on Wednesday, September 8.
Summer Reading
All are invited to join Fr. Brendan for some late summer reading. If you haven't already, order a copy of Dr. Brad Gregory's The Unintended Reformation: How a Religious Revolution Secularized Society. We will meet in the fall to dive into the book together as we try to make better sense of why our world today looks the way that it does. Between now and then, Fr. Brendan wants to send out some material to help with reading the book, which certainly poses its challenges. You can register now for the reading group, and some good information will be coming your way soon!
