Dear Parishioners,

Jesus gives us very difficult commands this weekend in the gospel – – love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. These are challenging directives in the best of times, but when we are truly accosted by an enemy and people who hate us, these statements appear impossible. It is not the first time and it is not the last time that Jesus will ask us to rise above our base instincts.

When someone punches us, we instinctively want to punch back. When someone insults us, we instantly want to react. Just take a look at social media – – the negativity, the cynicism and the vitriol is multiplied through that medium. Obviously, there are not too many people who are taking Jesus at his word. As we know, however, hatred only leads to greater hatred, and insults to greater insults and violence to more violence. Jesus is asking us to take the higher ground and to rise above the sinfulness of the human condition. It’s not easy. But being a Christian is not easy.

2025 Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries

Rise Up: HAVE MERCY! Middle School Day

All youth in grades 6-8 are invited to participate in the annual Archdiocesan middle school gathering from 10:00 AM—2:00 PM, now with a new focus and location. The day at Holy Family (Randallstown) will begin with Mass at 10:00 AM. celebrated by Bishop Bruce Lewandowski (all parents and family members are welcome to attend). Middle school participants will then play, pray, learn, and actively serve as we unpack the corporal and spiritual works of mercy in the light of Catholic social teaching. Baby Bottle Campaign

Donate money to our Baby Bottle Campaign to help the Center for Pregnancy Concerns provide free sonograms, baby supplies, and resources for education, employment, and addiction recovery, providing necessary support to mothers.

In Search of Gently Used Jewelry

We will be collecting second hand and gently used jewelry in the month of February for our December Christmas Fair. Please drop off at the Welcome Desk or Parish Center. No earrings for pierced ears please.
